Tesla owners in the UAE are being offered Premium Connectivity for AED 59 per month, with the charge reported to take effect from September 2026. The subscription covers cellular access to selected connected-car features, including live traffic visualisation, satellite maps, media streaming and remote Sentry Mode camera viewing. Core navigation, over-the-air updates and Autopilot are not being placed behind the AED 59 fee.

Tesla UAE Premium Connectivity moves to a monthly plan

UAE newspaper Emarat Al Youm reported the local price and September start date on 29 July 2026, after Tesla informed owners about the subscription. Tesla’s UAE support page confirms that Premium Connectivity is available as a monthly purchase, although the public page directs owners to their car or Tesla app for the current price instead of displaying AED 59.

The confirmed points owners should know are:

• The reported UAE price is AED 59 per month from September 2026. Keeping it active for 12 months would cost AED 708, before any separate third-party media subscriptions.
• Eligible owners can subscribe through the Tesla app or the vehicle touchscreen. Tesla says the plan can be cancelled at any time, but it does not offer a prorated refund for the unused part of a billing month.
• The subscription is purchased from Tesla and provides access to Tesla’s connected services. The cellular connection supporting those services in the UAE is supplied by e& UAE, but the plan is not a separate mobile-network contract.

The AED 59 fee covers Tesla’s cellular feature layer

Premium Connectivity is mainly about using data-heavy services through the car’s built-in cellular connection while away from Wi-Fi. Availability can vary according to the vehicle’s hardware and software configuration.

Maps, entertainment and remote monitoring

The paid package adds several functions that rely on continuous data access:

• Satellite-view maps and live traffic visualisation are included with Premium Connectivity. Standard Connectivity retains ordinary maps and traffic-based route calculation, so navigation itself does not disappear when an owner declines the paid plan.
• Video and music streaming, the internet browser and Caraoke are among the listed services. Some functions may not work on every Tesla because hardware support varies, while music and media providers may require their own paid accounts in addition to Tesla’s fee.
• The UAE owner notification reported by Emarat Al Youm also lists remote viewing of Sentry Mode cameras. This is distinct from the car’s basic security recording functions and depends on a compatible vehicle, current software and a stable connection.

Standard Connectivity still handles essential functions

Owners who do not subscribe are not left without the car’s main connected driving tools. Tesla says Standard Connectivity is included at no extra cost for eight years on applicable vehicles, counted from first delivery or first use as a demonstrator, while certain earlier orders retain different terms.

• Basic maps and navigation continue under Standard Connectivity, including traffic-based routing, Trip Planner and Supercharger stall availability. What is lost is the on-screen live traffic display and satellite map view, rather than route guidance itself.
• Over-the-air software updates remain available, and the connectivity package does not affect Autopilot when the vehicle software is current. Tesla also says important safety updates continue through the cellular connection.
• Some functions, including video streaming and the browser, may still work over Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot. Any mobile-data cost or hotspot restriction would then come from the owner’s telecoms plan.

Eligibility will not be identical for every UAE Tesla

This is a brand-wide connectivity policy rather than an announcement tied to one Tesla model. Subscription eligibility varies by model, variant, model year and order date, while some cars may have a delivery trial and selected older vehicles can retain complimentary Premium Connectivity under their original terms.

The company has not published a single UAE table showing which individual vehicles will pay from September. It has also not announced an annual UAE package or guaranteed how long the AED 59 price will remain unchanged. Owners can check their exact status under “Upgrades” and “Manage” in the Tesla app.

A new ownership cost for connected-car convenience

For UAE drivers who regularly use the built-in streaming services, live traffic display or remote camera view, AED 59 buys the convenience of using those features without connecting the car to a phone hotspot. Drivers who mainly rely on Bluetooth audio and standard navigation may find fewer reasons to keep the subscription active every month.

The extra cost also deserves attention when buying a used Tesla. Buyers should confirm the vehicle’s original connectivity entitlement, the remaining Standard Connectivity period and whether any complimentary Premium access transfers with the car, rather than assuming every model carries the same package.

The app will show what each UAE owner actually pays

The announcement does not disable the core driving functions of UAE Teslas, but it makes the brand’s richer online experience a visible ownership expense. With the reported September start approaching, the vehicle-specific page in the Tesla app remains the clearest place to confirm eligibility, trial expiry and billing before subscribing.
