Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Khaleej Cars collects when you use khaleejcars.ae, why we collect it, who processes it for us and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Khaleej Cars is an independent automotive publication based in the United Arab Emirates. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at:

What we collect and who processes it

Contact form

When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the reason for your message and the message itself. We also record your browser's user agent and a one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to block spam and limit repeated submissions. Messages are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase in the EU region.

Staff CMS accounts

Members of our editorial team have accounts for our content management system. We store their name, email address and role so they can sign in and publish.

Analytics and marketing

We use Google Tag Manager to load the following tools, which collect information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, device and browser details, approximate location and interactions:

• Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and how readers use our pages.
• Microsoft Clarity for session replay and heatmaps that show how pages are used, so we can improve them.
• Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure and improve the reach of our content on Facebook and Instagram.

Hosting and security logs

Our hosting and security providers, Cloudflare and Lovable hosting, process technical data such as IP addresses, request details and browser information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Car valuation tool

Our car valuation calculator sends only vehicle details (brand, model, year, mileage, condition and specification) to our valuation data partner, Deal Drive. It sends no personal data. Your IP address is used in memory only, to limit how many valuations can be requested in a short time, and is not stored.

Advertising

Ad banners on our site are direct links to advertisers, currently EV Experts. We do not use an ad network, and clicking a banner simply takes you to the advertiser's website, where their own privacy policy applies.

Why we use your data and our legal bases

• Answering your messages, based on our legitimate interest in responding to readers, or on taking steps you have requested.
• Running and securing the site, based on our legitimate interest in providing a safe, working service.
• Staff accounts, based on our legitimate interest in managing our publishing tools.
• Analytics and marketing, based on your consent where the law requires it, or otherwise our legitimate interest in understanding and growing our audience.

How long we keep it

• Contact messages are kept for 24 months and then deleted.
• Analytics and marketing data is kept according to each provider's retention settings.
• Staff account data is kept while the account is active.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the UAE, including in the European Union and the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls that limit who can see personal data, and reputable providers to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep risks low.

Children

Our site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), and under the GDPR if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can ask us to:

• give you access to the personal data we hold about you;
• correct data that is inaccurate;
• delete your data;
• stop or limit using your data (objection);
• stop processing based on consent, by withdrawing it at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
