Nissan has fully revealed the all-new Tekton, a new C-segment SUV that will be exported from India to markets across the Middle East and Africa. The model made its world premiere in Mumbai on 9 July 2026, while Nissan Middle East now lists the Tekton as “Coming Soon”. Exact UAE and wider GCC launch dates, prices and regional specifications have not yet been announced.

Nissan Tekton Makes Its Full Debut In India

The Tekton is part of Nissan’s “One Car, One World” strategy and is manufactured in Chennai. Nissan says the SUV was developed for India and export markets, with the Middle East and Africa explicitly included.

Its design takes inspiration from the Nissan Patrol, with a broad grille, C-shaped lighting signatures, muscular wheelarches and an upright stance. Nissan is positioning the Tekton as a premium C-SUV.

The T160 uses a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 PS and 166 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual. Nissan quotes 19.4 km/l under Indian testing, but no GCC efficiency figure has been published.

For Gulf buyers, the main mechanical details are:

• The most powerful Tekton produces 163 PS and 280 Nm. That places it firmly in the mainstream turbo-petrol SUV market rather than among Nissan’s larger off-road-focused models.
• A six-speed wet-clutch DCT is available with the T280 in India. Nissan has not said whether this automatic will be standard or optional in GCC versions.
• Ground clearance is quoted at 212 mm for the Indian model. That should help on rougher roads, but Nissan has not presented the Tekton as a Patrol or X-Terra alternative for serious off-road use.

Safety equipment is also extensive, with six airbags standard in India and more than 17 driver-assistance functions available on higher grades.
