Zeekr 9X UAE Preview Leads Brand’s Five-Year Celebration at Yas Marina Circuit

Zeekr 9X UAE Preview Leads Brand’s Five-Year Celebration at Yas Marina Circuit

Zeekr marked five years as a global brand with a Zeekr Dynamic track event at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in June 2026, attended by more than 200 owners, media representatives and industry guests. The event also hosted the first Zeekr 9X UAE preview, giving local customers an early look at the full-size luxury plug-in hybrid SUV before deliveries begin later this year.

Organised by Zeekr UAE and AWR Automotive, the gathering also recognised the brand’s second year in the Emirates. UAE pre-bookings have now opened, official prices have been published and the first deliveries are listed for October 2026.

Yas Marina event puts Zeekr owners on the circuit

Zeekr Dynamic is the manufacturer’s global owner track-day programme. Guests at Yas Marina Circuit moved through several activities featuring the 9X and the electric Zeekr 7X.

  • Grand Prix circuit sessions: The 9X and 7X were driven on the full Yas Marina Grand Prix layout. The controlled setting allowed Zeekr to demonstrate acceleration, handling and braking away from public roads.
  • Drag and drift activities: The 9X took part in straight-line runs alongside high-performance cars, while professional drivers gave guests drift ride-alongs in the 7X. Performance was therefore central to an event otherwise focused on owners and the brand’s anniversary.
  • Owner parade and dinner: Participants completed a convoy lap in their own Zeekr vehicles. The programme ended with an anniversary dinner at the circuit.

Zeekr 9X UAE preview introduces the new flagship

The 9X sits at the top of Zeekr’s range as a three-row, six-seat luxury SUV. Unlike the company’s established battery-electric models, it uses the SEA Super Hybrid system, combining a 2.0-litre petrol engine with electric drive and a large battery.

900V architecture brings rapid charging and high output

Zeekr’s global specification lists a 70kWh battery, 900V architecture and up to 380km of electric range under the Chinese CLTC cycle. Regional material claims more than 1,250km of combined range and a 20 to 80 per cent charging time of about nine minutes under suitable conditions.

The UAE page divides the First Edition range into three versions:

  • 9X Ultra: The entry model uses dual-motor all-wheel drive producing a listed 885hp. Zeekr claims a 0 to 100km/h time of 4.2 seconds.
  • 9X Hyper: This version has a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system rated at 1,380hp on the UAE page. Its claimed 0 to 100km/h time is 3.1 seconds, with rotating zero-gravity second-row seats and 48V active suspension also listed.
  • 9X Obsidian: The flagship shares the Hyper’s listed output and acceleration figure. It adds a black exterior and interior package, a dark grille and 22-inch forged wheels.

Regional launch material describes peak output as more than 1,400hp, while the UAE page lists 1,380hp for the tri-motor versions. Final local homologation documents should clarify the definitive figure.

A six-seat cabin aimed at Gulf luxury SUV buyers

Announced cabin equipment includes a 16-inch central display, a matching front-passenger screen, Nappa leather, natural wood trim, a suede headlining and a 32-speaker Naim Signature audio system.

Higher specifications add second-row recline, swivel, massage and zero-gravity functions. The layout gives the 9X clear Gulf relevance, where large luxury SUVs are widely used for family and chauffeur-driven transport.

UAE prices and October 2026 deliveries are now listed

AWR Automotive’s official page lists three First Edition models and says availability is limited. Buyers should confirm pre-launch offer terms and final on-road costs with the authorised distributor.

  • Published UAE pricing: The Ultra is listed at AED 369,900, the Hyper at AED 409,900 and the Obsidian at AED 439,900. Pre-launch prices are AED 359,900, AED 399,900 and AED 429,900 respectively.
  • Delivery timing: The page states that deliveries will start from October 2026. No more precise handover schedule has been published, so timing may vary by specification and allocation.
  • Details still unconfirmed: A UAE-certified electric range, combined range rating, model-specific warranty and full equipment list are not stated on the current sales page. The announcements reviewed do not include prices or a country-by-country launch timetable for the wider GCC.

Where the 9X fits in the Gulf market

Zeekr has not named direct UAE rivals for the 9X. It will nevertheless compete for buyers considering large premium SUVs with electrified powertrains, strong rear-seat comfort and high performance, with local comparisons likely to focus on certified range, charging, aftersales support and resale value.

The event also underlined Zeekr’s rapid expansion. The company says it has delivered more than 800,000 vehicles globally since 2021 and now operates in more than 40 markets.

A fifth anniversary becomes a UAE sales push

The Yas Marina event gave owners a track-focused celebration, but the 9X preview was the main development for prospective buyers. With local prices, pre-booking and an October delivery target published, Zeekr is moving its flagship towards a full UAE launch.

Questions remain around certified range, final equipment, warranty cover and the wider GCC rollout. Those details will determine how the 9X’s performance and cabin specification translate into a competitive Gulf ownership proposition.
